What is the difference between an HPV test and a Pap test?
The HPV test looks for the presence of the virus that causes cervical cancer, while the Pap test detects possible precancerous cell changes. According to the most recent medical recommendations, screening starts with an HPV test, and a Pap test is done only if certain strains of the virus are detected.

If you are not in menopause, you should schedule your biopsy between day 17 and 21 of your menstrual cycle.
